I love programming so much that I sometimes I find it hard to stop thinking about a project. Though it is tempting to think that I will solve a problem if I just keep bashing my head against it, that is rarely true. I can usually untangle a bug, write a method, or design a project more clearly after taking a break. But, the temptation to keep chipping away at a problem doesn’t really go away unless I find something else to think about. Lately, that “something else” has been learning to play guitar.

I got a sweet guitar over the holidays and have been noodling with it off and on since then without making much progress. Recently, I heard about an Intro to Guitar course on Coursera. Now that I am a few weeks in, I can really see my playing improve and am stoked about learning to read music for the first time. Here’s the progress I have made so far:
